HOTEL INFORMATION
PETER ISLAND RESORT
P.O. Box 211
Road Town, Tortola, BVI
Distance by hotel ferry from airport and town 4 miles

The Classic Caribbean Resort. Capturing the charisma, character and charm of the British Virgin Islands (B.V.I.) on a private island blessed with five dramatic beaches, more than 20 secluded coves and the promise of pure personalization.

In 2001, the only retreat on the 1,800-acre (7.2 sq. km) island re-opened following an extensive renovation of its 52 rooms to reclaim the unpretentious essence exclusive to the B.V.I. Peter Island Resort blends a sense of provocative serenity and simplicity with Caribbean elegance.

Edged by the expanses of the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Sir Francis Drake Channel and six breathtaking bays, Peter Island Resort falls four miles south of Tortola and occupies the fifth largest of the loose array of 60 islands, cays and exposed reefs that comprise the B.V.I.

BEACHES

  • DEADMAN'S BAY: The most sensuous scene in the Caribbean with its crescent-shaped, white sand beach and towering coconut palms, embraces storied Dead Chest & Salt Islands pristine places of pirate lore- in its mesmerizing expanse of brilliant blue water.
  • LITTLE DEADMAN'S BAY: An extension of its senior and a hot spot for snorkeling, draws yachts of every size and locale.
  • HONEYMOON: The resort's most intimate beach, offers only two lounge chairs beneath a single thatch hut. Island tradition dictates that lovers pay tribute to the beach at least once during their stay-- one couple at a time, of course.
  • BIG REEF BAY: Lies across the hillside from Dead man’s Bay. Stretching three-quarters of a mile, its brilliant, shallow reef is idyllic for beach combing and romantic sunset walks. The resort's fitness trail also winds along the palm-lined beach.
  • WHITE BAY: Favored for its privacy and stunning views of Norman and St. John Islands. Snorkeling here, where fish literally eat out of extended hands, is the best on the island. Its secluded shores also host the resort's exquisite picnic lunch.
  • TRANQUIL COVES: With the help of seafaring service, guests uncover one of the resort's 20 TRANQUIL COVES for their personal pleasure.
