HOTEL INFORMATION
Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel
62-100 Kauna'oa Drive
Kohala Coast, Hawaii 96743

On the Big Island of Hawaii, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is upbeat, breezy and dramatic. Sharing 1,839 acres of oceanfront paradise with the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel opened in 1994.  The hotel is nestled into the bluffs above the #1-rated Hapuna Beach in a flowing, contemporary Hawaiian style. All 350 of its guestrooms are ocean-facing that radiate from an open-air lobby that provides sweeping views of the Kohala coastline.

A predominant feature of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains.  The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named "Hapuna" or "Spring of Life" in the Hawaiian language.

Now travelers come to: Take an early morning walk along the white sands of Hapuna ("Best Beach in America-Conde Nast Traveler"), play a relaxing 18 holes on a course designed by Arnold Palmer/ Ed Seay, feast leisurely on world-class cuisine in any one of six restaurant/lounges, pamper themselves at a state-of-the-art spa and soak in an ocean-side whirlpool. Reciprocal signing privleges at nearby Mauna Kea Beach Hotel double a guests' options.

Golf HeavenIn 1997, the U.S. Golf Association named Hapuna "The Course of the Future." This Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed 18-hole championship course is nestled into the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. It is a links-style course featuring spectacular views of the Kohala Coast and the Pacific, with snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano as a backdrop. Hapuna Golf Course has been called the most environmentally-sensitive course in the Western region.
